Prospector’s Gear in Bear and Breakfast
Prospector’s Gear is an item in Bear and Breakfast that is used to open up blocked passageways. In order to break down the massive piles of rubble that block the way down to the Beachside or unlock shortcuts, players will need to buy a Prospector’s Gear and then interact with the rubble. While there are a couple of Gears in different chests, there are not enough to break down all the piles that Hank will come across.

At least two Prospector’s Gears can be found in Pinefall; one is in a chest next to one of Hank’s B&Bs. A great tip for new players to Bear and Breakfast is to check every nook and cranny of the forest for hidden materials and chests. After finding the hidden ones in Pinefall, Hank will have to buy all the rest of the Prospector’s Gear that he needs.
Where to Buy Prospector’s Gear
Oliver, the man who asked Hank to find Beanie in Bear and Breakfast, has a little shop next to his home. It looks like a giant toolbox. There, players can buy bus stops to unlock fast travel to an area, logger’s tools to help rebuild monuments, jeweler’s kits for the end game, and Prospector’s Gear. But these aren’t available immediately. There is a quest chain that Hank will have to complete first to unlock them.
In order to unlock the ability to pick up Prospector’s Gear, players first need to complete most of the story quests for Winterberry. After that, Jax will send Hank to a new place called Pinefall in search of Barbara in a quest called The Old Lady. Head to Pinefall through the southern road in Winterberry, a little south, and west of the Ski Cabins.
After stepping foot in Pinefall for the first time, the Prospector’s Gear will finally be available to players, but for a steep price: these cost 1500 coins each. This means that Hank will need to save up their money before being able to get enough to unlock all the shortcuts in this relaxing simulation game.
Bear and Breakfast is available for PC and is coming soon to Switch.
