Bayonetta 3: Expected Unlock Time

Typically, digital copies of Nintendo Switch games that also have physical releases are unlocked at 9pm PDT the night before the official release. Since Bayonetta 3 does indeed have a physical version, players should expect its digital release to follow that schedule. This means that fans that purchase a digital copy of the game through the Nintendo eShop should be able to start playing on October 27 at 9pm PDT, and here is that expected release time adjusted for the other time zones in the United States:

While players wait for Bayonetta 3’s expected release time to arrive, they may want to confirm that they have preloaded the game onto their Nintendo Switch consoles. This can be done upon preordering the game through the eShop, and the title has a file size of around 16GB. While this is quite compact when compared to many contemporary games, it is still recommended that fans that want to play immediately upon release get through the downloading process sooner rather than later.

Players may also want to spend some time ahead of the game’s release focusing their attention on Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2. Indeed, while fans should certainly be able to enjoy this latest entry without playing its predecessor, creator Hideki Kamiyaa has indicated that doing so will greatly enhance the experience. Players are thus advised to at least skim some story recaps from those games in preparation for this new release.

Finally, fans may want to put some time toward reading a few Bayonetta 3 reviews. At the time of writing, those reviews are extremely positive, and it looks as though the title will be one of the best-reviewed of the year. While this information will not be of interest to everyone, it may increase some player’s excitement about the game’s release.

Bayonetta 3 launches Friday, October 28, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
