The Bavarian club says the Spanish midfielder tore the lateral collateral ligament and the articular capsule in his right ankle during Tuesday’s 2-1 win over fourth-tier team SV Roedinghausen.
Thiago sustained the injury after a late tackle from Bjoern Schlottke and had to be taken off in the 75th minute.
Team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt diagnosed the injury on Wednesday after the team returned from Osnabrueck.
Thiago has played in all but one of Bayern’s 15 games this season.
