Players will be excited to know that this latest leak reveals that Battlefield V will feature a co-op mode. The leak suggests that this is a special mode that will feature squads of players running through “randomly generated Conquest missions.” While this sounds like a co-op offshoot, there is the possibility that DICE will expand the scope of co-op mode beyond simply running through missions.

Obviously, gamers will have to wait and see whether this offering will be similar to that of Battlefield 3, where co-op involved two players fighting against AI controlled bots. It has also not been confirmed whether there will be an online leaderboard for players to compare their co-op efforts against others in Battlefield V. Electronic Arts is also yet to announce details about out how many players Battlefield V’s co-op mode will support.

It has also not been confirmed whether Battlefield V’s co-op mode will support split-screen or whether it will be fully online co-op. The phasing out of split-screen co-op has caused some controversies in games in the past, like when Halo 5 removed its campaign support for the feature. If nothing else, Electronic Arts should be fully aware of the arguments in favor of split-screen support before making a decision regarding Battlefield V.

Depending on how the developers execute the co-op mode in Battlefield V, it could make the game even more appealing to existing, as well as new Battlefield players. Look for more details about the mode, as well as the other features in the game, during Electronic Arts’ EA Play event at E3 2018.

There is no official release date for Battlefield V yet, but we can expect the game to roll out late in 2018.
