In an effort to get Battlefield fans just a little more excited for the Battlefield V announcement, a brief teaser trailer has now been published to the franchise’s official Twitter account. The video, which comes in at just 19 seconds long, appears to be a clip from the game’s online multiplayer mode. In it, a man with goggles resting on top of his head leans forward into the camera to shush the player character, who seems to be making muffled cries. In the background, some sort of heavy stomping can be heard, but it’s unclear whether this is from a bomb or a vehicle.

Although it’s incredibly brief, this Battlefield V teaser clip may have revealed that the game is set in World War II. Right at the top of the screen, viewers can see the game’s traditional score markers, including indications of who is controlling which sections of the map. Alongside these scores are two very small icons, which appear to be representing Great Britain and the united armed forces of Nazi Germany. The pilot’s goggles also don’t seem to be particularly modern, which is another indication that the game is focused on WWII.

This teaser trailer isn’t the first suggestion that Battlefield V will be set in WW2. A leak from earlier this month not only suggested that the game would be set in the Second World War, but that it would make some significant gameplay changes to shooting mechanics and would feature cosmetic skins.

Fans will have their fingers crossed that all of this information and more is confirmed during the Battlefield V reveal event later this week. Fans will also be hoping that EA and DICE address the rumors that the new shooter game will feature a battle royale mode, such as the likes of Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, as well as a single-player experience which is something that rival shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is missing. Other information, including the Battlefield V business model and rumored co-op mode will hopefully be clarified too.

Battlefield V is set to be officially revealed on May 23, 2018.
