The cops-versus-robbers shooter (or slasher, now?) will also be getting two new vehicles, new assignments, a few new legendary weapon camos, and four brand new maps. As mentioned before, Betrayal is included as part of the season pass content, but interested gamers will also have the option to purchase the DLC separately if they opted not to buy into the season’s pass.
Regardless of one’s subscription to downloadable content, the launch of Betrayal will coincide with a free update available for everyone, which introduces 11 new weapons (not counting the 7 exclusive to the upcoming DLC) and new server presets. As of the time of this post, there hasn’t been any details provided for the free update beyond what was previously stated.
The aforementioned maps included in Betrayal will be called Chinatown (picture above), Cemetery, Thin Ice, and Alcatraz (pictured below).
Electronic Arts has yet to release more information about the Betrayal DLC, but the full details are expected to come out in the coming weeks ahead of when the content is expected to go live. With swords being added into the mix (and evidently being usable for both cops and robbers), we wouldn’t be surprised to see some other close combat weapons make an appearance within Betrayal.
Hardline was one of the most searched-for titles of 2015, and the developers have evidently worked hard supporting it with plenty of content. After this, there’s no more DLC scheduled for the title, but it’s safe to say that Battlefield Hardline had a good year of support. It put a clever spin on the usual Battlefield formula, and we’re sure the swords will help give the game a unique feel in a genre overflowing with admittingly similar games.
Battlefield Hardline has been in the EA Vault for some time now, so gamers who subscribe to the service should certainly check the title out.
What do you think about swords being included in Hardline, Ranters?
Battlefield Hardline is currently available for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
