From there, they’ll have to scroll down until they see Battlefield 3 under the “Games with Prime” section. The deal will be available until December 30, and for those who do manage to redeem their code, they’ll also need to ensure they input it into Origin before January 29 as the key will expire. Unfortunately, the pack doesn’t include any DLC, so those looking to bag the whole Battlefield 3 experience will seemingly have to make some additional purchases.
That being said, it seems unlikely players will be encountering packed lobbies when they jump into Battlefield 3’s online modes, with the game originally releasing all the way back in 2011. The title does have a campaign, however, so those wanting to get their fix of Battlefield’s explosive military action can still do so in spite of the servers likely being a ghost town. The story itself centers around a fictional war in 2014, with the US battling against an Iranian paramilitary group known as the PLR. The franchise will continue next year, with EA announcing that DICE is working on a follow-up that will allegedly be on a “never-before-seen scale.” Considering 2021 will likely welcome an influx of major titles that take full advantage of the power of the next-generation consoles, it seems Battlefield will be using that to make its biggest game yet. Until then, Battlefield 3 is a pretty solid reminder of why the franchise is one of the biggest in the modern FPS scene.
Battlefield 3 is out now on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
