Battlefield 2042 has two key varieties of trophies. The first are tied to either progression or simply playing Battlefield 2042 quite a bit. The second is associated with challenges and in-game achievements. Since Battlefield 2042 doesn’t have a single-player campaign, there won’t be any easy-to-earn story progression trophies. That means that PlayStation trophy hunters are going to have to dig into Battlefield 2042’s multiplayer for a good while to earn these trophies.

On the progression side are trophies including Bronze, Silver, and Gold for reaching a player level of 5, 15, and 25. Similarly, there are trophies for killing 500 enemies when not in a vehicle, capturing 100 objectives in Conquest, extracting 25 in Hazard Zone, and winning 42 rounds across all game modes. These are going to be earned purely through playing the game’s diverse range of game modes, requiring more of a time investment than any level of skill or necessary practice.
For those that want a challenge, Battlefield 2042 has plenty of achievement-based trophies to unlock, too. There are one-offs like destroying a vehicle with a rocket launcher while parachuting and flying in a wingsuit from Battlefield 2042’s Rocket Hangar location to its Cryogenic Plant on the Orbital map. Gold trophies include performing 20 melee kills in one round or successfully extracting in Hazard Zone without a single squadmate dying.
To earn Battlefield 2042’s Platinum trophy will be an endeavor, to say the least. There are 35 total trophies including the Platinum, each spread across the shooter’s multiple game modes. It won’t be enough just to play the game normally. Players will have to swap game modes, swap weapons, and play certain modes in certain ways. It’s not an exceptionally challenging list of trophies, but it will take some time investment and ability.
Battlefield 2042 fans will be able to start earning trophies in less than two weeks. A good approach is to enjoy Battlefield 2042 normally at launch. Level up and earn trophies naturally and then once nearing level 25, with some experience under the player’s belt, look at what’s left to unlock and start focusing in. Otherwise, earning Platinums is necessary for every game.
Battlefield 2042 releases November 19 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
